At ECAM Rennes, we are committed to working with each individual to determine and shape their educational goals and career projects so that their time spent here translates to professional success in the outside world.
With a network spanning over 4,000 external partners at various stages of the degree cycle (instructors, project guides, mentors, internship supervisors, etc.), ECAM Rennes offers constant opportunities for students to make direct contact with the industry and working professionals, allowing them to grow their network along with building up their professional experience.
Founded in 1991, ECAM Rennes is the brainchild of 4 industrial engineers, who recognized a vital need for a higher education establishment that would cater to the needs of the industry. The full name of the school, ECAM Rennes Louis de Broglie, is a tribute to the 1929 Nobel laureate in Physics. As a motto the founders chose ‘La science au service de l’Homme’ (science in the service of mankind) to underscore their objective: to offer an education firmly rooted in a humanist approach to the acquisition of technical excellence through skills and project-based learning.
Since its creation, ECAM Rennes has consistently shaped the training and activities offered at the school to respond to real-world industrial needs. The course catalogue and programs are updated to reflect changes in the job market and there is a heavy emphasis on pedagogical development and innovation.
ECAM Rennes is accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), to grant engineering degrees at the graduate level (French equivalent of a Masters in Engineering). At present, the school offers 2 degree titles:
In 2022, ECAM Rennes is launching a new program via apprenticeship: Masters in IT Engineering for Industrial Innovation. The accreditation of this diploma is currently underway and the first classes are scheduled to begin in the fall of 2022.
Students at ECAM Rennes are trained to adapt to different professional roles across multiple sectors ranging from R&D to project management. The multi-disciplinary program offers courses in Material Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering and Energy Systems. The cursus places a heavy emphasis on international collaboration, team and project management, technical savoir-faire, taking initiative and solution-oriented thinking. Helping students develop their professional and career goals is at the heart of the training program.
Graduates of ECAM Rennes are successful and engaged professionals with a broad knowledge-base in science and technology and a honed aptitude for project management and coordination. Given their generalist background, they are ideally suited to leading large teams comprising various specialties and domains and are at ease with adapting to and acquiring skills in disciplines outside their immediate areas of interest.
The majority of our graduates gain full-time employment in France or abroad within the first 3 months of graduation and are recognized for their efficiency, reliability and their ability to become fully integrated team players with ease.
In 2016, ECAM Rennes was awarded the nationally-recognised EESPIG (Etablissement d’Enseignement Supérieur Privé d’Intérêt Général) certification for non-profit organizations of public interest. The school is also an accredited member of the FESIC group (Fédération d’Etablissements d’Enseignement Supérieur d’Intérêt Collectif) and the CGE (Conférence des Grandes Ecoles), both of which are national benchmarks in French higher education.
